报告摘要:
The top quark is the heaviest elementary particle, studying its interaction with the Higgs boson not only helps to further understand the newly discovered Higgs boson itself, but also opens new opportunities to probe the BSM physics. This talk will first summarize recent new experimental results on the top-Higgs interaction using the Higgs decays to diphoton channel with the CMS experiment at the LHC.
In order to cope with the higher luminosity and increased trigger rate/latency at the HL-LHC, the CMS experiment is conducting a series of upgrades. One project (ODMB7/5) is the upgrade of the readout electronics for the endcap muon system. For the second half of this talk I will summarize the recent progress of the ODMB7/5 project, focusing on the design, prototyping and firmware development of the new readout electronics targeting HL-LHC.
报告人简介:
Dr. Hualin Mei a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Wuhan University in China in 2012, and Ph. D. of experimental particle physics at University of Florida in 2018. Dr. Mei played an important role in the measurements of Higgs boson properties, including mass, cross section, couplings, as well as searching for BSM physics using the Higgs boson as tool using the Run 2 dataset from the CMS experiment. He is currently the co-convener of CMS Higgs to diphoton physics analysis sub-group. Dr. Mei has also made important contributions to the operation, reconstruction, upgrade of the CMS endcap muon system (CSC), his recent interest is the DAQ electronics upgrade of the CSC, and is currently one of the main project members of the ODMB7/5 project and the leading firmware maintainer/developer for the project.
