Low-dimensional materials, such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides, and black phosphorus have gained significant interest as one of the most promising materials for optoelectronics and bioelectronics due to their unique physical and chemical properties. Recently we have studied the photocurrent generation mechanisms in low-dimensional materials and their hybrids through scanning photocurrent measurements. Moreover, carbon nanotube based optoelectronic probes have been combined with optical trapping techniques to directly measure the binding force between a single DNA molecule and a carbon nanotube. We have also integrated graphene optoelectronic probes with microfluidic platforms to explore the electrical activity in neuronal networks.
报告人简介:
Yaqiong Xu is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. She obtained her B.S. degree in physics from Wuhan University and her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University under the supervision of Professor Richard Smalley. After a postdoc position at Cornell University under Professor Paul McEuen’s guidance, she joined Vanderbilt in 2009. Her research group focuses on investigating the electrical and optoelectronic properties of low-dimensional materials and exploring their applications in biomedical and energy conversion fields.
