报告摘要:More than 99% of the visible matter in the universe is the protons and neutrons. Their internal structure is mostly governed by the strong interaction. Understanding their internal quark-gluon structure is in the frontier of the modern physics research. Worldwide efforts have led to numerous discoveries and surprises, but major challenges still remain. An overview of the progress will be presented with a focus on the recent studies of the proton and neutron's spin and 3-d structure. Selected highlights of new results from Jefferson Lab will be presented. Plans for future physics programs and major facilities will be discussed.

Spokesperson of JLab experiments; Project Manager of SoLID; Chair of PAC, HIGS @TUNL; Chair/Member, organizing/advisory committees for international conferences; Chair/Member, scientific advisory/review committees; Over 180 publications; Over 90 invited talks. Research interests: experimental study of high-energy nuclear/hadron physics.
