报告摘要:

Twin-Fock state (TFS), with identical particles equally partitioned into two modes, contains strong metrologically useful particle correlations due to their exchange symmetry. Large ensembles of TFS have been generated experimentally based on spin mixing dynamics, where two|F=1,mF=0> atoms can collide into a pair of atoms in theF=1,mF=卤1> states due to spin exchange. Nevertheless, analogous to twin photon generation from spontaneous down conversion, spin mixing dynamics is accompanied by large fluctuations in the total number of correlated atom pairs. We proposed to deterministically generate TFS by adiabatically driving a condensate across quantum phase transitions through the control of relative interaction strengths. We have recently demonstrated this idea experimentally. As expected, the fluctuation of the total atom numbers of correlated atom pairs in the generated TFS is quite small compared to the dynamically generated one. Not only we achieve record number squeezing and quantum coherence, our work also highlights the power of generating large-scale useful entanglement through quantum phase transition.
