报告简介:Two-dimensional materialsand hetero-structures provide an important playground for realizing novel topological quantum phases as well as tailored electronic and spin textures with potential applications. In this talk, I will first present ourrecent works on the experimental realization of novel topological phases in the family of transition metal dichalcogenides [1-3]. I will also present our recent work on the interesting band structure engineering by superlattice potential in a model van der Waals heterostructure graphene/h-BN[4].

报告人简介:

周树云,2002年本科毕业于清华大学物理系,2007年于美国加州大学伯克利分校获博士学位。2008-2012年在美国劳伦兹伯克利国家实验室先后任“先进光源”博士后研究员和材料科学部项目科学家。2012年加入清华大学物理系任副教授。2013年获“求是杰出青年学者奖”。

周树云的主要研究方向是利用角分辨光电子能谱(ARPES)、超快时间分辨角分辨光电子能谱(TR-ARPES)、共振软X射线散射谱(RSXS)和超快时间分辨共振软X射线散射谱(TR-RSXS)等实验技术,研究低维量子材料的电子能谱及动态过程。近年来在石墨烯、新型过渡金属硫族化合物、第二类拓扑半金属以及范徳华异质结的新奇电子结构研究方面做出重要的贡献。截止目前,共发表论文30余篇,包括Nature, Nature Phys., Nature Mater., Phys. Rev. Lett. 14篇,引用数3000余次。
